EPISODE 26: Jake Pelot
Jake Pelot is a professional wakeboarder from Orlando, Florida. Jake first got his experience on the water behind a jet-ski, and hated it. It wasn't until he took a few laps at the cable that he got a hang of riding. He spent his teen years competing both at cable contests as well as behind the boat, progressing his riding. After high school Jake balanced getting a marketing degree at UCF with his wakeboarding career. EPISODE 25: Shane Bonifay
Shane Bonifay is a wakeboarder and videographer from Lake Alfred, Florida. Shane grew up on the water, getting his start at an early age on waterskis and competed alongside his brother Parks in 3-event ski tournaments. After the introduction of wakeboarding, both Shane and Parks took a liking to the freedom and creativity offered in wakeboarding and quickly progressed their riding. With Parks being the biggest name in the sport, Shane began to distance himself from his brother and continued to make a name for himself both in contests and in his free riding. Shane had a long and fruitful career as a professional rider, and has now stepped behind the scenes in the industry to continue to influence the sports he loves. EPISODE 24: Davis Griffin
Davis Griffin was a professional wakeboarder from the great state of Texas. Davis got his start like most, waterskiing, then discovering wakeboarding behind the boat. He shortly met Chris Abadie and Andrew Adams, and the three began riding together frequently. As their riding progressed, so did their creativity. The Shredtown crew was created, and the video projects began to come one after another. Shredtown took the wakeboard world by storm, producing high quality park and winch content. Davis had his hand in inspiring a generation of park riders with his unique take on wakeboarding. The formation of Shredtown, video projects, world travels, Drop The Gun, Shredtown Jamboree, gnarly slams, and the eventual end of the Shredtown era. EPISODE 23: Reed Hansen
Reed Hansen is a professional wakeskater, dock builder, hunter, and all around dude. Born and raised in Groveland, Florida, Reed got his start wakeboarding with his family at a young age, progressing quickly. However, in his early teen years Reed discovered wakeskating, and after some pushback from his family finally made the switch permanently to wakeskating. EPISODE 22: Tarah Mikacich
Tarah Mikacich is a professional wakeboarder from Groveland, Florida. Tarah got her start in watersports at a young age waterskiing, and pursued that for many years, becoming very good. With her favorite discipline being trick skiing, making the switch to wakeboarding came relatively easy and Tarah began learning tricks rather quickly. EPISODE 21: Thomas Herman
Thomas is a professional wakeboarder from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Thomas joins elite company in @codyhesse being the second to land a triple flip on a wakeboard, and the first to land it behind the boat. He landed the triple at the young age of 20, and has a solid bag of tricks which will put him in contention for professional wins for years to come. Learning from one of the sports best, training during the summers in Michigan, making the move to Florida, getting his first sponsor, and landing the worlds first triple flip behind the boat. EPISODE 20: Felix Georgii
Felix Georgii is a professional wakeboarder from Allgäu Germany. Felix's unique upbringing has given him a standout style on his board, as well as a different perspective on "boarding" in general. With support from some of the sports biggest brands, Felix has helped create some of wakeboardings coolest videos and projects. EPISODE 19 : Jamie Lopina
Jamie Lopina is a professional wakeboarder from Minooka, Illinois. Jamie got her start into wakeboarding later than most, and has progressed incredibly quickly both behind the boat and at the cable. With motivation coming more so from progressing the sport rather than solely winning contests, Jamie has a unique and refreshing view on wakeboarding. Balancing contests schedules, equal pay, Bali belly, almost giving up on wakeboarding entirely, landing doubles, and womens wakeboarding. EPISODE 18 : Shaun Murray
Shaun Murray is easily one of the biggest names in all of wakeboarding, and has influenced the sport basically since its inception. Growing up in California, then St. Louis, Shaun started riding before “wakeboarding” was even a thing. He’s had an impressive competitive and freeride career since the late 90’s. Shaun has managed to stay relevant well into his late 40’s, and still gets out on the water a ton. EPISODE 15 : Jeff Mathis
Jeff Mathis is a wakeboarder, photographer, animal lover, and all around good dude. Jeff began his wakeboard journey at an early age in Montgomery, Alabama. Growing up alongside Alex Graydon, Jeff first was exposed to photography in his teenage years, simply wanting to document the fun times he has with his friend, both on the water and off. Rusty Malinoski is one of the biggest names in wakeboarding and has see it all when it comes to the watersports industry. Quint Noble is part owner in one of the biggest apparel companies in the wakeboard industry. EPISODE 12: Clark Davis
Clark Davis is a husband, father, wakeboarder, and was once a part owner in one of the most progressive cable parks in the world, Jibtopia. Clark began wakeboarding behind the boat at Belews lake in North Carolina. After high school, Clark took some time off from riding and attended college. Getting some of his first cable laps at Jibtopia, Clark quickly developed a unique style for riding his board, which still shows today. Jibtopia, heat stroke, winching, full parts, back to back knee injuries, winning the biggest video contest of the year. Clark is a joy to be around and his energy is infectious. Episode 11: Terry Bailey
Terry Bailey began his wakeboard journey in the early 2000's, initially riding strictly behind the boat. It wasn't until he moved to Orlando that he got a taste for the rail scene in wakeboarding. Once getting the hang of cable, Terry continued to pursue his passion for rail riding, ending up at Valdosta Wake Compound in the early days of their construction. Coalition movies, life changing surgeries, legendary parties, traveling across the planet, the life of Terry Bailey is a unique one, and he has certainly cemented himself as a key player in wakeboarding. Episode 10: Alex aulbach
Alex Aulbach is a 27 year old professional wakeboarder from Landshut, Germany. In his early years Alex played a lot of hockey and was considering that as a potential career path. Having grown up watching skateboarding and snowboarding, Alex started to pursue those sports a bit more as he got older, specifically snowboarding. After a decent competitive season Alex quickly realized he was not going to be hucking double corks, and wasn’t getting enough snow time to stay competitive. Once discovering wakeboarding Alex quickly progressed, but always kept a positive attitude and focused on having fun. Fast forward a few years and Alex found his way on the Hyperlite team, which sparked a new chapter in his career, which eventually led to getting his own pro model board.
Episode 09: Erik Ruck
Erik Ruck is a former professional wakeboarder, X Games medalist, Pro Tour champion, TOTY winner, and much more. Having grown up in Wisconsin, Erik was very into watersports at a young age. He really took a liking to trick skiing, and right as wakeboarding was invented Erik was hooked. Picking up sponsors as he progressed during the summer Erik made the decision to move to Orlando and make a career out of wakeboarding. With wakeboarding, and extreme sports in general, being as popular as they were, Erik and the rest of the "Pointless Posse" crew were doing well for themselves. This crew included big names like Parks and Shane Bonifay, Chad Sharpe, and Danny Harf. As he began to transition out of being an athlete, Erik took a more behind the scenes role with Square One. Erik still lives on Clear Lake in Florida and is just as passionate about wakeboarding as he was when he was an athlete. Without Erik, wakeboarding and its culture, would surely be in a different spot.
Episode 08: Dylan Miller
Dylan Miller is professional wakeboarder hailing from the great white north, Canada. Dylan grew up playing tons of sports, but hockey and wakeboarding were his main two. After deciding not to pursue a career becoming a hockey player Dylan poured everything into wakeboarding. Working on an oil rig in the off-season to save money to ride the rest of the year, Dylan has never been shy of hard work. Dylan is one of the few riders in wakeboarding to have talent in all 3 disciplines, the boat, cable, and winch. With plenty of video parts, including an X Games Real Wake part, as well as a part in the standout Formats Film by Taylor Hanley, Dylan has helped influence a generation of riders with his unique style and approach to riding. From having a relationship with the McMorris brothers, to getting a pro model with Slingshot, Dylan has plenty of stories and a great outlook on life.
Episode 07: Guenther Oka
From the boat to the cable, and even the winch, Guenther Oka is easily one of the most talented wakeboarders to ever do it, and at just 24 years old he has accomplished more than most riders will in their entire career. Guenther has a competitive mindset which has helped get him to where he is today, with plenty of contest wins behind the boat and at the cable. Growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio, Guenther began riding behind the boat in his childhood where he quickly progressed. After a cable park opened right by him in 2009 Guenther was able to begin working on being the great all around rider he is today. With a unique riding style and a craving for simply having fun on his board, Guenther is one of wakeboarding's gems and has a great attitude about our sport. Riding for the sports biggest brands like Red Bull, Liquid Force, O'Neill, and Axis, Guenther has experienced plenty and was a pleasure to chat with.
